The Digital Darkroom

These days, understanding how to manipulate the digital image is just as important as camera technique. There are literally hundreds of books, DVDs, websites and podcasts to assist in this. I strongly recommend the following which have been so helpful to me:

www.birdsasart.com - Art Morris's book 'The Art of Bird Photography' and his new CD, 'The Art of Bird Photography II' are essential reading.

www.lightroomkillertips.com - A site full of great ideas and shortcuts for image processing.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers: A Professional Image Editor's Guide to the Creative Use of Photoshop for the Macintosh and PC by Martin Evening. Probably the 'best of the bunch' as far as Photoshop manuals are concerned.

My digital darkroom consists of:
Apple iMac 20" computer
Apple iMacbook Air laptop
Apple Aperture
Nik Software Suite
Adobe Photoshop CS4 - for image manipulation
Canon i965 inkjet printer

Equipment & Technique

For the past four years I have used Canon cameras and lenses. In 2011, I switched to the Micro Four Thirds system.
